Tonight is pizza night so thought I would use Donna’s basic tomato sauce. It’s so versatile and I’ve frozen some for pasta etc
place a saucepan over medium heat. Add 2 chopped onions and 2 sliced garlic cloves and cook for 4 minutes. Add 2 x 400g (14 oz) cans whole tomatoes and crush into small pieces with a wooden spoon. Simmer for 5 minutes or until the desired consistency. Add chopped fresh herbs such as parsley, basil or oregano, pepper and sea salt. Serve over pasta, use as a base for pizza, or spoon over cooked meats and fish.
